Press Release – Axxess offers webinars on CMS Final Rule

Author: Axxess

Comprehensive training webinars offered on important changes effective January 1

DALLAS (Dec. 09, 2014) – Axxess, an industry leader in home health management software and the only software vendor accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), is offering training during December and January to help organizations transition to the requirements in the final rule, issued last month by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), effective January 1, 2015.

The Affordable Care Act requires CMS to update Medicare’s Home Health Prospective Payment System (HH PPS) rates and wage index as part of a four-year phase-in of the rebasing adjustments. This final rule implements the second year of decreasing payments to home health agencies. The changes also affect the face-to-face encounter documentation, HH PPS case-mix weights, quality reporting program, therapy reassessment timeframes, speech-language pathology personnel qualifications, reviewability of the civil monetary penalties, coverage of insulin injections, delay of ICD-10-CM and a value-based purchasing model.

“The final rule’s extensive changes will significantly impact home health organizations,” said John Olajide, CEO of Axxess. “Paramount to a smooth transition, which will reduce the risk of noncompliance penalties, is comprehensive training on the final rule along with use of an updated technology system.” To ease compliance, Axxess offers practical, authoritative education as well as updated, compliant software solutions.
