Conquer Workforce Management Challenges in Care at Home

Effective workforce management is crucial in today’s healthcare landscape.

A recent industry survey highlighted several challenges in this area, including staffing and upskilling employees. The survey found that only 55% of home health and hospice staff feel fully prepared to care for a new client, and only 40% of younger leaders consider their organization’s learning and development program excellent.

Christina Andrews, Senior Director of Professional Services at Axxess, shared insights into how a Learning Management System (LMS) can help organizations tackle these challenges. She explained that an LMS can enhance workforce well-being and mitigate workforce scarcity by streamlining training processes and improving employee skills.

Benefits of a Learning Management System

It is important for organizations to stay competitive. One way to achieve this is through the use of an LMS for employee training.

Thirty-nine percent of providers have an established training program to retain long-term employees.

“Forty percent of Fortune 500 companies use an LMS to train their employees to ensure that their attitude, behavior and competency aligns with their culture,” said Andrews.

She explained that implementing an LMS has a positive impact on employee behavior, empowering them to perform at the top of their license and skill set.

“[LMSs are] designed to build competency, providing your team with the confidence they need to execute their job with the highest level of quality,” Andrews said.

She emphasized that an LMS can help organizations attract top talent, retain employees and enhance their reputation.

“Attracting top talent can truly be differentiated utilizing an LMS because of the use of this technology-driven training,” said Andrews. “[An LMS] is also going to engage your employees, enhancing employee satisfaction and commitment to training and development.”

Using an LMS for training can improve employee engagement and satisfaction, which can lead to better employee retention.

“When an employee feels valued and invested in, they are most likely to stay with the organization,” said Andrews.

Andrews discussed that the training experience can also contribute to the overall external reputation of the organization.

“An LMS can elevate the employer brand, … and that will contribute to a positive external reputation,” said Andrews. “So, invest in your employer brand, invest in your employees and help to conquer workforce management challenges.”
