Yesterday, the Washington D.C. District Court completed a ruling that the Department of Labor (DOL) cannot grant overtime and wage protections to home care workers who provide companionship services. The ruling concludes the temporary stay that a district court had granted on December 22. Now that the regulatory process has completely struck down the overtime and wage protections, the change could be pursued through the legislative process with the approval of Congress.
