Marketing Ideas for Home Health Care Agencies

Successful home care companies provide compassionate care that keeps patient loads and profits high. Whether your company focuses on short-term visits or live-in assistance, your home care company can increase its clientele and profits through a well-crafted marketing plan. The most effective marketing ideas for home care involve providing top of the line care, increasing complementary services and increasing visibility among medical facilities and potential home care clientele.

Broad Service Offerings

Offer a multitude of services to your potential clients. Beyond standard nursing care, offer at-home physical therapy, nutritionist services, counseling and even alternative therapies like acupuncture. This broad scope approach will lead customers to focus more of their health care dollars with your service and can allow you to provide more comprehensive care for your clients. Additionally, you may draw more customers to your services because of the additional services you provide.

Insurance

Access to home care for many patients is reliant upon acceptance by their insurance plans. Increase your potential customer base by accepting as many insurance plans as possible. Also offer insurance consultations for your clients to help them fully understand their benefits and limitations. When appropriate, refer them to a screened insurance representative who can help them make modifications to their existing plan, or offer additional insurance to meet the patient’s needs. To avoid negative patient reactions, make sure the insurance sales representative you select is very sensitive and provides options, not sales hype. This maximization of insurance benefits the home care patient and can increase your company’s revenue.

Medical Facilities

Connect with medical facilities like hospitals, nursing homes, hospice services, diabetes clinics and other medical facilities that cater to elderly or patients with chronic conditions. For many patients, the level of care they require changes as their condition improves or progresses. Developing a preferred provider agreement with other facilities can help patients easily transfer between services and can lead to important referrals for your services.

Public Care

Take your home care services to more public facilities to increase awareness of your company and services. For example, provide basic care services like blood sugar checks, blood pressure monitoring and flu shot services at a senior activity center. In addition to providing a convenient service, your company will present a friendly face for future potential clients. Allowing someone to enter their home to provide care is much easier for individuals when they feel a connection to the providers.

Logistical Care

Beyond the standard medical care needed by home care patients, offer beneficial services like home cleaning, pet care services, errand running, financial planning, food delivery and preparation, and lawn care services. Partner with companies or individuals who provide these services on a contract basis that can tailor their services to home care patient’s needs. In addition to increasing the partner company’s business, you can request a finder’s fee or revenue share that will increase your profits. More than providing additional income to your company, you will provide easier access to needed services for home care patients.
