OASIS-C1 Transition Success: The Axxess Advantage


Preparing for the Medicare mandated transitions from OASIS-C to OASIS-C1 and the new OASIS Assessment Submission and Processing (ASAP) system has likely been mission critical at your home healthcare agency during the last several months. Our team of experts, most of whom have worked in the home health industry for decades, worked diligently to review and understand the new regulations and information from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Quality Improvement Evaluation System (QIES).

Throughout the last year, our software developers were dedicated to ensuring all aspects of our AgencyCore software were in sync with OASIS-C1 changes and integrated with the OASIS ASAP system for claims submission. As we updated our software, we tested and retested extensively as part of our rigorous quality assurance process. On January 1 at 12:00 a.m., we were well-prepared to flip the switch in our software to accommodate the OASIS-C1 and the OASIS ASAP system. This seamless transition helped Axxess clients be up and running and compliant instantly.

Part of our framework for OASIS-C1 was creating in-person seminars and online webinars to help healthcare professionals learn about the new system. Our training has been available for months prior to the change over on January 1 and since then thousands of healthcare professionals have participated. We also updated our AgencyCore Online Training Manual to include step by step instruction on submitting claims through the OASIS ASAP portal.
