Seminars Presented ‘On the Road’ in McAllen, Houston, and Dallas

Just like the signature Willie Nelson ballad, Axxess has been “On the Road Again”, presenting its lively and interactive Administrator’s Seminar to enthusiastic audiences all over Texas.

The home health consultancy presented its acclaimed leadership training event to attendees in the Rio Grande Valley and Houston on April 10 and 12. Then on April 19, a packed house attended the same event, in Axxess’ home city, Dallas.

Subject Matter Experts presented a cohesive program of educational materials. In January 2012, Axxess as a leading consultancy was awarded the prestigious seal of approval from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, enabling Axxess to present content that receives the ANCC certified seal of approval for the awarding of Continuing Education Units- (CEU’s) on a nationally accredited basis. Axxess is only such accredited consultancy and technology provider in the Home Health Industry.  As the attendees in McAllen, Houston and Dallas will attest, the ANCC accredited Axxess educational presenters received excellent evaluations from all attendees.

“The educational topics were presented in a sequence that made sense, in fact they flowed… the presenters were knowledgeable and confident. This seminar was worth much more than the cost of admission. I will definitely be returning to another Axxess Administrator’s Training Event”, exclaimed Ralph Batchelor, of RBA Texas, who brought several of his team members to the Dallas event. Ralph has led the formation of a very successful statewide conglomerate from its headquarters in Hurst, located the DFW Metroplex.

Attendees came to the Houston event from as far away as Omaha, Nebraska. Attendees from Illinois and Ohio were in attendance at the Dallas event.

‘Riz’ Villasenor, home health agency owner, of Chicago, IL, was quite enthusiastic about the presenters and their content of the seminar. The successful home health operator from Illinois remarked, “The “7 secrets” presentation about how “culture eats strategy for breakfast” and how we can view our companies in a tribal, organic way was refreshing. I have not heard such an original presentation anywhere! I thought it was a great way to wrap up the seminar which presented very relevant and applicable content. I am planning to attend the Chicago event in June, and encourage our staff to attend as well.”

The topics covered were up-to-date and well researched by the Axxess SME’s. Ms. Patricia Evans, R.N., a registered nurse with over 25 years home health quality assurance, administrative and patient care experience, led off the seminar with a presentation styled, “New Medicare and Insurance Rules for 2012 and beyond: Strategies for Compliance and Success”. Ms. Evans presentation covered the latest home health regulations emanating from the Center for Medicare Services (CMS) in Washington, DC, as well as the latest coverage provided by larger Health Management Organizations(HMO’s) and Managed Care insurers. Ms. Evans resides in the Houston area, and assists Axxess clients in Mock Surveys, Quality Assurance projects, and also provides onsite training and support for Axxess Agencycore clients and new subscribers all over Texas. Ms. Evans presentation then concluded and segued to a detailed technical review of home health issues regarding regulatory compliance styled, “The Top 10 Survey Violations and Tips to Deficiency-Free Surveys”. Joni Wilson, R.N., an Axxess consultant for over a year, presented the survey deficiencies/violations topic to a very interactive learning group in both McAllen and in Houston. Wilson is a 10 year experienced home health agency Director of Nursing, Administrator, trainer and patient care professional. Joni shared her personal experiences in stories that engaged the attending learners. Ms. Wilson also enlightened the learning groups with her presentation regarding how to “Document for Success: Quality Assurance and Risk Management Strategies”. Wilson serves Axxess as an SME for clinical standards and patient care methodologies. She also assists Axxess clients with training and implementation of the Axxess Agencycore software.

Axxess founder and CEO Niyi “John” Olajide then shared valuable perspectives regarding, “How to Improve Your Agency’s Cash Flow: Diversify and Enhance your Revenue Sources”. In all venues, the assembled learners were quite participatory in Mr. Olajide’s session. An attendee rated his session as being “very practical, useful, and humorous”. Olajide’s sessions always receive very high marks from student attendees.

To close the seminar educational sessions, C. Sam Smith, seasoned business executive and Business Development Advisor for Axxess, shared two general topics regarding your agency’s corporate culture and how to enhance your marketing and develop your agency’s posture for success. His seminars were styled: “The 7 Secrets of Highly Effective Home Health Agencies”, borrowing proven characteristics of learning organizations to illuminate home health agencies’ need for positive workplace cultures. Many learners commented that his vignettes of specific home health agency challenges and success stories were especially insightful. Smith concluded the educational series for the day with a lighthearted marketing insights discussion called: “Relevant Ideas for Marketing your Home Health Agency”. This exploration of humorous marketing stories and examples from real encounters were also received quite well by the participants. The concluding presentation was highlighted by class participation and excellent ideas contributed by the attendees present at the event.

As is Axxess’ practice, at each venue, a drawing was held where those present were eligible for a raffle of valuable prizes. Several valuable prizes were awarded to several lucky participants. After the fun of the drawing, the attendees were invited to an ‘end of seminar’ open bar and party. The participants were treated to oer d’oeuvres, and roast beef, shrimp and other delicacies, and a live DJ. At each seminar, participants commented that they had never seen such generosity extended to attendees of an educational event.

The Axxess Administrator Seminar series continues on May 1st in the Inland Empire of the Los Angeles Metro area at the beautiful Embassy Suites Hotel on Guasti Lane, near the Ontario, CA airport. Axxess is expecting another record attendance at this event.

Then, on June 7th, Axxess is presenting the Administrators Seminar Program in partnership with the Association of Certified Home Health Agencies in Illinois, to be held at the popular Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore on Touhy Avenue, in Skokie, IL.

Additionally, plans are being formulated for the presentation of the Administrators Seminar in the Miami, Florida area in early November.
