Axxess Hospice now enables users to generate CAHPS reporting data from the Report Center. The new CAHPS data report provides a list of deceased patients and their contacts who have been selected to receive a CAHPS survey.
By accessing this report, organizations can easily gather and submit data to their CAHPS vendor to ensure compliance with the Hospice Quality Reporting Program (HQRP).
To generate CAHPS reporting data, users must have permission to access patient reports in Axxess Hospice.
To give a user permission to access patient reports, edit the user’s profile and navigate to the Permissions tab. In the Reports section, select View and Export next to the Patient Reports permission. Click Save to finish granting the permissions to the user.
People tab ➜ People Center ➜ Edit ➜ Permissions tab ➜ Reports section ➜ Patient Reports ➜ View/Export ➜ Save
To generate the report, navigate to the Report Center under the Reports tab. In the Patient Reports section, select CAHPS Reporting Data, or click on Learn More to see a description, parameters and what data is included in the report.
At the top of the report screen, users can filter the data by branch, sample year, sample month, primary payer and column details.
By default, the filters are set to show deceased patients and their associated CAHPS data points for the previous month for all branches and payers. The Column Details filter enables users to see numeric values for each field (default) or numeric values and descriptions of each value. Most CAHPS vendors require numeric values only.
Information from patients’ charts is used to populate the report. If information needs to be updated for a patient, click the patient’s first or last name in the report to open the patient’s chart and make the necessary updates.
Caregiver information in the report populates from the Authorized Contacts tab in the patient’s chart. The report displays contact information for the person selected to receive the CAHPS survey. If no contact has been selected to receive the CAHPS survey, the patient’s primary contact will be used, and they will be marked to be excluded from CAHPS surveying.
Several columns in the report can be sorted by clicking the column headers. These columns are labeled with up/down arrows.
To export a copy of the report in a .csv file, click CSV Export. To export a copy of the report in an Excel file, click Excel Export in the top right corner of the report screen.
