Axxess Hospice now enables users to assign type of bill codes to room and board payers to accommodate state requirements. This enhancement facilitates compliance and streamlines operations by eliminating the manual process of changing the type of bill on room and board claims.
To assign type of bill codes to room and board payers, users must have permission to view, add and edit insurances/payers in Axxess Hospice.
To give a user permission to assign type of bill codes to room and board payers, edit the user’s profile and navigate to the Permissions tab. In the Administration section, select View, Add and Edit next to the Insurance/Payer & Authorizations permission.

To create and submit room and board claims, users must have permission to view, add and edit claims. To give a user permission to view, add and edit claims, navigate to the Billing section. Select View, Add and Edit next to the Claims permission.

Once the appropriate permissions have been selected, click Save.
To add a type of bill code to a room and board payer, navigate to the three-line menu ( ) in the top-right corner of the screen and select Insurances/Payers. Navigate to a payer and click Edit under the Actions column to add room and board information.
To create a new payer, navigate to the plus sign menu ( ) in the top-right corner of the screen and select Insurance/Payer. In the new payer form, document the payer details and navigate to the Billing Information tab.
On the Billing Information tab, select Room & Board Payer under Room & Board Settings. Under Type of Bill Code Structure, select the type of facility and type of care. Once the appropriate selections have been made, click Save at the bottom of the screen.
Room and board claims created for the payer will populate with the type of bill code entered.
